Erasmus For Young Entrepreneurs - new call for proposals
The European Commission has recently launched a new call for proposals for the programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs addressed to intermediary organisations that manage the mobility scheme locally. Such organisations include Chambers of Commerce, start-up centers, incubators and other organisations providing support to businesses.
As a reminder, the aim of the programme is to give entrepreneurs, who plan to start a business or have recently started one, the chance to learn from experienced owners of a small company in another EU country.
The purpose of the call is to select a number of projects submitted by public or private entities, individually or in partnerships composed of at least two entities from one or several Member States. They will be required to cooperate with all other organisations and authorities involved in the mobility programme, enabling new entrepreneurs to take part in mobility activities. They will receive support from the existing Support Office. Please note that from April, EUROCHAMBRES handed over the support office responsibility to the organisation “First Elements Euroconsultants”.
The Commission provides a budget of €4.300.000 for grants to bodies in the Member States active in supporting enterprises in order to organise exchanges between new and potential entrepreneurs in one EU country and existing entrepreneurs in another.
It is estimated that funding will be awarded for 25 to 40 projects. The maximum funding by the Commission will be €180.000 per partnership and €150.000 per individual applicant. The EU co-financing rate of eligible costs is 90 %.
The scheduled start-up date for the action is on 1 May 2012 for a duration of 21 months.
Information about the call is accessible on the following website: http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/newsroom/cf/itemlongdetail.cfm?item_id=5357
The submission deadline is on 17 October 2011.
An information and networking meeting on this call will take place on 12 September 2011 in Brussels. Registration requests must be sent before 7 September to the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org, using the "Registration Form" to be downloaded from the website mentioned above.
Information days will also take place in some Member States. Please see the list for specific locations and dates on the website mentioned above. Registration for info days in the Member States should be done via email to the contact person mentioned in the list.
With best regards,
